Insert Images on GMail’s Message Body

This tip will let you insert images to your GMail’s message body and not as attachments. This also works on Google Apps-based email.

1. Click “Settings” on your main email page.
2. Click on the “Labs” tab.
3. Search for “Inserting Images” feature by Kent T. Tick/Select “Enable“.

4. Scroll down and click the “Save Changes” button.

When creating a new email, you’ll notice that there is a new tool on the palette beside the “Insert Emoticon” button. Click the “Insert Image” button to add an image from your computer or from a link to your message body.

Remember, that this is just an experimental feature. There’s no assurance that it will be working 100% all the time. Also, make sure that GMail Offline is enabled for this lab to work.

Unthreading GMail

Threaded email is a feature GMail popularized making their service standout from other email service competitors. Similar to the idea of forums, newsgroups, etc., this feature groups email messages together keeping the conversation/topic intact. This also makes  your inbox organized. Some were able to embrace the idea but there other are users who prefer the old style of listing emails messages. If you prefer the traditional email style, read on to unthread your GMail.

On your GMail page, click Settings then look for “Conversation view” part. Tick/Select “Conversation view off” to disable the feature. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the settings page.

WiseStamp is Now Integrated in GMail

WiseStamp

WiseStamp is a browser extension that lets users customize their email signatures with their social profiles enabling them to add their latest tweets, blog posts, music, an eBay item or anything they want to advertise. I use it to promote my site, tweets, and my LinkedIn profile. Users may also add custom-made images to make their signatures attention-catching.

Before, it was just an extension (Firefox for me) that works on the browser-side. Now on GMail, including Google Apps domains, WiseStamp is integrated into the email interface. You’ll see a WiseStamp link near your username on the upper right hand side of your page. And when you click it, a window will pop-up to let you customize your WiseStamp signature.

Tweaking WiseStamp

After customizing your signature, try composing an email message. You’ll see your new and shiny WiseStamp signature. If you see your old signature appended to it, configure your GMail settings by removing your old signature.
