The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, died Thursday at UCLA Medical Center. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.
“It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known,” his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.
Considered as one of the most successful and dominant figure in the music industry, Michael emerged as a child superstar with the Jackson 5 and became entertainment world’s “King of Pop” as his music and videos like “Beat It”, “Thriller”, and “Billie Jean” rose to popularity. Music videos were transformed into an art form and promotional tool that brought MTV into fame. He also popularized eye-popping dance techniques like the “robot” and “moonwalk”. Jackson also has donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his foundation, charity singles and support of 39 charities.
