The siomai vendor from Batangas, Jovit Baldivino, is the first grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent! It was a landslide victory for the 16-year old guy as he garnered 40+ percent of text and online votes.

Jovit Baldivino

Jovit Baldivino

He rocked Araneta Coliseum during the grand finals performance night as he did Queen’s Too Much Love Will Kill You. His rise to fame started during the auditions as he captured Pinoys with his version of Journey’s Faithfully. I think he wasn’t just a fan favorite that time, he was destined to win the competition. I also even included him in my list of favorites to win. Jovit became an Internet sensation and captured more fans during the semifinals as he rendered Carrie of Europe.

I guess Kris Aquino was right. He didn’t only have talent. He also got charisma. His passion as he sings, the way he feels every line of the songs – that’s how he captured the hearts of millions of Filipinos.

Congratulations Jovit Baldivino! Job well done. Kudos also to ABS-CBN for world class production numbers during the results night. It was one great show. 🙂
